It isn't safe. What if some kind of emergency happens, and you were all by yourself? Anyone of any age, gender, or orientation can have an emergency where it goes very badly to have lived alone. It's simply smarter to live with 1+ people you trust, instead of on your own.
In fact, our country should outlaw living alone. You should have to have a minimum of two people to rent or own your own home, whether it's a house, or an apartment. It's just not a good idea to allow people to live by themselves.
People who have no one they trust to live with? There should be group homes just for people like that, even when they're not disabled, elderly, or poor. These group homes should encourage healthy socializing, and discourage addictions. They should also encourage financial, and hygienal independence.
You probably also shouldn't be alone anywhere you go, especially online.
You even shouldn't travel alone when you can carpool.
So, if you're alone on a website, you should probably reconsider using that website, and ask your loved ones why they don't use it.
The same is true about online video games.
It's not safe, or healthy to be isolated.
